Iceberg – diamond shade
Handmade Diamond shade by Jeremy Walton, 2009. E-craftbook jw 006
Dimension 55 cm x 55 cm x 70 cm. Various selected paper and milk cartons.
Lampshade made as part of the Made personally exhibition at Mooment shop. This lampshade uses the e-craftbook jw 006 (available to down load and make your own at designyoumake.com, just $10. Or this one needs a home for slightly more than $10.)
My subject for this shade is an Iceberg. I done some in-depth study of icebergs (couple of photos on google images) The diamond shade lends itself to the form of the iceberg and I collected papers that are white, pure white and super white for above the water line. For below the water line and deeper inside the iceberg, I collected blue paper, milk cartons and the monthly Map magazine by architect David Garcia. (more…)

Cannon Smoke
Installation by Jeremy Walton June 2009. Roskilde Festival
Using, the Soon to be available JW oo6 Diamond Shade e-craftbook, I set about creating Cannon Smoke as part of the Silent Circus project in SoupaNatural’s circus tent in the Climate Community field of the Roskilde Festival.
Going along with the Circus theme, I studied in detail (a couple of online photos) Cannon Smoke from human cannon ball acts. I attempted to recreate this using the lampshade diamonds made of craft paper, waste paper and good old milk cartons.
Virgin Trapeze Shades
Lampshades handmade by Jeremy Walton June 2009. Roskilde Festival
The lampshades are made of folded panels joined together with virgin clips. A single metal ring sets the shade into its circular form.
Unlike my standard Panel Shades these ‘Virgin Trapese Shades’ use salvaged lampshade frames for the metal ring and the rest of the old lampshade frame remains hanging down within the new lampshade.
Candlestick Maker
Design by Jeremy Walton, 2004. Reworked urbane drift wood.
Inspiration is taken from found objects. Not only the objects but also the process used to make the components of the furnishings around our homes. These observations are reworked to create something new that can be repeatedly reproduced.
A development coming out of the The Fake Dane process.
The Fake Dane Collection

A Design process by Jeremy Walton 2004
A slowly expanding collection of objects made using a designed process, where locally found furniture parts (urban drift wood) get used to determine variable end results.
Each item is individually numbered. The collection is on going and the initial collection of 01 to 60 will be presented at MM gallery Copenhagen in 2005. Selected items are part of the Lauritz Passion day Aution 2005.
Objects of Desire
Design by Claus Bjerre, Ditte Hammerstrøm and Jeremy Walton. 2004.
Shrink plastic has been used to wrap a Jaguar E-type, the plastic has been peeled from the car like a facial mask. The plastic is made up of several layers melted together, creating a laminate that holds the form of the car. The form is obscured by negative space and distortion, similar to a dream the form comes and goes.
Culture Shrink
Design by Claus Bjerre, Ditte Hammerstrøm and Jeremy Walton. 2003.
The material is polyolefin that shrinks when heated. The most common use of the material is for electrical insulation. Insulation is an important element of lighting that is most often disregarded and hidden.
The polyolefin comes as a tube and it is not readily available in very large diameters. For the lampshades we cut the tubes of polyoefin to create sheets, these were then sewn together to create a large tube near to the size and shape of the frame.
Reading Lamp
Design by Jeremy Walton, 1998. Laser cut stainless steel.
Dimensions: mm x mm x mm
The Reading Lamp is for a personal space and is touched and moved regularly. Removing the book to read inclines the light towards the reader.
